Mr. Ramneek Sharma
General Secretary, URMU Youth Wing
URMU recognizes the importance of youth in taking forward the organisation as a whole and therefore has dedicated Youth Wings at central and divisional levels. The idea of Youth Wings was a brainchild of our General Secretary, Sh. BC Sharma Ji. On his instructions the first Youth Wing at the central level was established on 4th February 2015. Since then Youth Wings have been formed at divisional levels at Accounts Headquarters, Ambala, Alambagh Workshop, Charbagh Workshop, Delhi, Firozpur, Jagadhri Worskshop, Lucknow, Moradabad and Workshop. The work for establishing Youth Wings across the Northern Railway divisions is ongoing under the URMU leadership.
The Youth Wing was formed with a vision to empower the youth working in the Indian Railways. Today, more than 70% of our workforce is made up of young, aspiring individuals. URMU organises periodic Youth Wing Conferences and programmes to give voice to the younger generation of Railway Employees. The Youth Wing strives to understand their concerns and problems, and provides meaningful solutions for them by raising issues with the Railway Board and Government of India..
The Youth Wing is also committed to the cause of NPS and job security for the younger employees of Indian Railways and it is through the consistent efforts of our parent organisation NFIR that we are able to secure Dearness Allowance for the railwaymen.
